Hello PG,

I am a trying to decide which Canon DSLR to buy as my first camera. I am completely new to using DLSRs and I can't choose whether to go with a Rebel XSI (or better) or just jump into the "D" series. Please help me out with your knowledge and advice. Maybe a suggestion of what you guys started with? Thanks!

what is your realistic budget (initial, because it's never ending)

like kuya sean said, what's your budget, if it's not an issue, then you can surely get the Ds, but if it is, I suggest the rebel T2i, I have one and it shoots very decent photos and great videos, and since you are new and I'm guessing not sure if you're really going to be serious with it the T2is a good buy.

ang una ko kasing canon e nikon. haha. yeah you gotta know what you want to do first. are you shooting sports? will it be for fashion? for family use only? Are you gonna go pro or this is just for your past time? knowing what you want to do will narrow down what you need.

i agree with sean and bong figure out what you want to shoot, this will narrow down the selections and hopefully lead you to the right camera.

I started out with an xti and now shooting with a 5d mk1

on a budget with a video hands down t2i.
more budget 7d. more higher 5dmk2

used on a budget 5dmk1 great buy full frame.

If you have the money go for the 1d's =)

for sports 1D.. if don't have the budget, 7D.. for full frame 5DMKII..

for a starter and don't have the budget.. t2i is a good start..
